About This Trip

This is an 8 Day / 7 Night mission trip to Guatemala.

Join Orphan Outreach and JOY FM in serving children in Guatemala. This trip will include daily outreach efforts including bible school programs for school aged children. Home visits to install stoves and water filters in the Cerro de Oro community; most families currently cook over an open fire. The installation of a stove is an enormous blessing and life changing gift! Serve students with Down Syndrome at Down Guatemala. If the need is identified, there could be a possibility of light construction projects.

About Guatemala

UNICEF estimates that are over 370,000 orphans in Guatemala. Many of these children come from families facing extreme poverty; 70 percent of people in Guatemala live below the poverty level. Orphan Outreach ministers in Guatemala by partnering with local orphanages, churches, and Christian schools for children in extreme poverty situations. We also make it a priority to come alongside the Guatemalan nationals and work with them as they serve their own people.

Orphan Outreach Mission Trip Baggage Policy

All mission trip participants are responsible for the cost of their checked baggage. When traveling internationally, most airlines allow passengers to carry two checked bags at 50 pounds maximum. The cost of checked baggage depends on where you are traveling and your status with the airline. For the most up to date baggage allowances and fees, please check with each airline you are traveling on.

Occasionally we may ask trip participants to carry humanitarian aid and items needed for ministry in country. To save the cost of having to pay for the second bag on the return flight home, you can stuff a bag inside your other bag. Please ask before leaving behind a bag in your country of service.
