PRAYER REQUESTS

Guatemala
Praise God that the Good Shepherd Academy in Santiago was able to add a fifth grade class to the school this year. God continues to grow this school; it now has 160 students.

Pray for the money to be raised to build a much needed addition to the school building, which will allow the Good Shepherd Academy to have enough classrooms and recreation space for all the students.

Pray for Pastor Diego's health as he is still struggling with his throat. He visits the doctor this week. He began preaching again this past Sunday for the first time in several months. Pray not only for his health, but also for his family as they minister in Santiago in many ways.

Honduras
AFE School currently has 160 students enrolled and 24 students attend classes at the dump. The hope is for those students to become motivated to come to AFE's campus across the street. They have several students who may transfer to the main campus next week.

God is moving in the hearts of students at AFE and is using Wendy, AFE's caseworker, to walk alongside students who are struggling to stay in school. She already had a student who was planning to drop out of school to work at the dump reconsider after her follow-up visit with him. The student continues to attend AFE.

India
Continue to pray for Santvana and the need for staff. Pray that the children, Dr. Edwards and the staff would trust in God's sufficiency and provision in their lives.

Russia
Praise the Lord for the Bible classes taking place in the orphanages. Pray that classes would continue at Volkhov orphanage. Pray that God would continue to open the doors to share the gospel in the orphanages. Also pray that children are able to go to church and learn of His love for them.

Summer Internship
Please pray for all the planning and preparation involved as the summer internship approaches. We are in need of additional interns to serve in India this summer, from June 17 to July 14. Pray that God would bring people to serve and that we would rest in His sovereign plans. Click here if you are interested or have any questions.

Sasha

in Russia

Sasha is 18 years old and has never met his father, and his mother left him when he was a baby. He will graduate from Orphanage #60 this year. Please pray for his transition out of the orphanage. Pray for the Lord's protection over Sasha, as it is so easy for children leaving the orphanage to fall prey to drugs, alcohol, criminal behavior, prostitution and suicide. Pray for his education as he plans to go to the University. He also wants to have his own family someday.

Orphan Outreach's orphan graduate program in Russia seeks to engage Russian churches to mentor graduating orphans and provide a non-residential model for children who have aged out of care in partnership with the Leningrad Ministry of Education.

Pray for our orphan graduate caseworkers as they come alongside students like Sasha who will be graduating this year to support them through their transition into independent living. Pray that God would bring more Christian social workers to work with graduates.
