PRAYER REQUESTS

Guatemala
Pray for the WCSG/MNN team that leaves for Guatemala this Saturday, October 10. This team of 24 individuals will be holding medical clinics throughout the week in the Lake Atitlan area for the children and families of Santiago, Panabaj, Cerro de Oro, Tanchaj and Chacaya. The team will also serve the children at Good Shepherd Baptist School. Pray for the hearts of the people they will serve, that they would experience God's love and power. Also pray for the health and protection of the team members and interpreters who will  be traveling. Click here to follow the team's blog.

Pray for discernment and guidance from the Lord as a group of leaders will meet at the end of the month for vision-casting with Mama Carmen's ministry in Guatemala City. To learn more about this ministry, click here.

Honduras
Begin praying for a team of individuals who will be traveling to Tegucigalpa in early December. They will be teaching at AFE in the mornings and then ministering at the dump in the afternoons through evangelism and passing out food. Pray that God's grace and compassion would be evident to the people they serve. Pray for the team as they physically, financially and spiritually prepare for the trip.

Continue to pray for the country's political situation and for the upcoming elections. Praise the Lord for his protection over AFE and its ministry, which has not been affected by the situation. Pray for stability and for God's continual provision.

India
Praise God for his work through Samson Parekh who is training pastors dislocated from the persecution in Orissa. Pray that God would continue to use Samson and protect the pastors and their families.

There is a need for more staffing at Santvana Home in Pune. Pray that God would bring the right people to serve and love the children. Pray for Dr. Edwards and the current staff as they go through these transitions and wait for God's perfect timing.

Russia
Pray for the small team that is currently serving in Russia as they minister to children and share the love of Christ with them. They return to the states on October 11.

Also pray for the upcoming trip to Russia, October 22-31. This team of 15 individuals will be visiting 10 different orphanages where they will distribute backpacks and share the love of Jesus through VBS and their actions. Pray for all the logistics and details as they prepare over the next two weeks.

Orphanages in Russia have been affected by the decrease in government funding. There is a need for basic necessities, such as toiletries and clothing. Pray that the children and orphanage staff would place their trust in God alone and find peace in His provision and love for them.

At the official Orphan Sunday website, you wll find ideas and support for creating your own event at your church
Please pray for
Ana Maria and
Milton Josue
in Santiago
Ana and Milton are siblings who live in Santiago, Guatemala. They both attend the Good Shepherd Baptist School with the help of sponsorship support through Orphan Outreach. Ana is 10 and in the 3rd grade and Milton is 8 and in the 1st grade. Their father, Luis, is a door welder and their mother is a homemaker. They also have two brothers, Sammy and Cristofer. Their family lives in a house made out of blocks with a metal tin roof. Ana's hobbies include basketball, football, and dolls. She wants to be an elementary school teacher. Milton likes to play soccer and hopes to become a bus driver.

Ana and Milton have high aspirations and desire to succeed and provide for their family and community. We are thankful for the great things the Lord has done in their lives. Please pray for these two precious children, for their family, and for their continuing education. Pray for Pastor Diego, the teachers and staff at Good Shepherd as they teach students the truth of God's Word and equip them with an education to break the cycle of poverty.
