Praises

We are so thankful to our prayer partners, donors and volunteers who made it possible to share Christ's love through Christmas celebrations with the children we serve around the world. Click here to view photos of the children celebrating the birth of Christ around the world.

Thanks to God for a great start to the new year. The Lord has truly blessed Orphan Outreach and the children we seek to serve each day. We are thankful for all of God's wonderful blessings in 2008 and we look forward to His plans for us in 2009.

Prayer Request

Guatemala

Please pray for the staff and students at Good Shepherd Baptist School in Santiago, Guatemala as they begin their very first school year on Monday, January 19th. There are 130 children from kindergarten to 4th grade registered to begin school on Monday. Pray for all the children as they begin a new school year this month and pray especially for those children who are attending school for the first time, that the adjustment for them may be easy. Pray that their families will be blessed and impacted by the new Christian school in Santiago and pray for the teachers and staff of the school to be diligent in sharing the love of Christ through their daily school lessons and testimonies. Pray for the funding necessary to provide scholarships to 30 children living in Panabaj, a community left devastated by a mudslide in 2005. Pray that the Lord will bless this school and the lives of the children in attendance.

India

In 2009, Orphan Outreach will continue to work with Redeeming India to impact children in Southern India. Please pray for wisdom when working with Redeeming India so that a real difference can be made in the lives of each child.  Also pray for Soso (the Director) who recently re-married after her husband's passing in 2007.  Pray for God's blessings on their new life together.  New children will be coming to the Santvana Home in India this year.  Please pray that Orphan Outreach will be able to work with the Santvana Home to make needed changes in the education available for these children.

As we establish our presence in India, pray that the Lord will give Orphan Outreach clear direction and guide our decision making.  Pray that many children will be touched with the love of Jesus Christ in India in 2009.

Russia

In January, Orphan Outreach will be hosting a Christmas program in the St. Petersburg's region. Please pray that many children and adults will hear the story of Christ's birth and begin to understand God's love for them. Pray also for the Orphan Outreach staff in this area, that God will bless the work of their hands.

Orphan Outreach is making plans for a conference this April in Russia. Please begin to pray now that many would come to know Christ personally through this conference. Pray also for every staff member in Russia who will participate in this conference and for all the details that must be accomplished in the next few months.

Orphan Outreach

As we begin a new year with new opportunities, please pray that God would lead, guide, and direct the steps of Orphan Outreach so that His name would be glorified around the world. Click here to read stories from 2008 and plans for 2009.

Please Pray for Anjali,
age 11, in India.

Anjali is a sweet, eleven-year-old girl who has known so much loss in her young life. She was born in Maigaon, Maharashtra in India and is the second child in a family of four girls. When Anjali was only five-years-old her father died of AIDS. Less than two years later, Anjali also lost her two-year-old sister and her mother to AIDS, leaving her and her remaining two sisters in the care of their paternal grandmother.

After the death of their mother, Anjali and her sisters joined their grandmother working in the fields. Each morning before school, the girls helped harvest and sell cotton. Their paternal uncle struggled to provide as much financial help as he could so the girls could continue going to school but the two years following the death of their parents were filled with financial and emotional strain. It wasn't until Anjali's uncle learned about the Orphan Outreach sponsored orphanage that Anjali's life began to change.

When she first arrived at the home, Anjali did not know Christ; she did not even know how to pray. One day her home parent asked her to pray, and as she prayed she felt something passing down her back as though someone were touching her. She opened her eyes but there was no one near her. After praying, she asked to borrow a Bible and as she opened the pages of the Bible she came across the promise given by Jesus that says if one has faith as small as a mustard seed you will be given what you ask. It was then that she came to understood that Jesus is really the Living God.

Anjali has been in the home for the last 2-1/2 years. She is doing very well in her studies. She is good in sports and spends much time reading the Bible and praying. She wants to attend Bible College and become a pastor.

Please pray for Anjali as she continues to grow in her relationship with Christ and pray that He will provide all her needs. Pray also for children throughout India who have never experienced the love and hope of Christ. Pray that they will find refuge in Him.
