Mission Backpack Delivery Ministry Trip

You can serve orphans and at risk children in Guatemala by joining this trip for individuals and families. Trip members will visit orphanages and Christian schools. Travel with Orphan Outreach and personally experience God’s heart for His orphan children and the life you change will be your own. Encouragement Radio stations in East Texas have collected over 400 new backpacks and you will be delivering them, along with school supplies, to children in desperate need. These children start their school year in January, so you will be be helping them get the critical supplies they need to start the year.You will also be sharing first hand God's love with each child.

About Guatemala
UNICEF estimates that are over 370,000 orphans in Guatemala. Many of these children come from families facing extreme poverty; 70 percent of people in Guatemala live below the poverty level. Orphan Outreach ministers in Guatemala by partnering with local orphanages, churches, and Christian schools for children in extreme poverty situations. We also make it a priority to come alongside the Guatemalan nationals and work with them as they serve their own people.

Team Leader
Amy Sams, Orphan Outreach Volunteer Leader, will lead the team in Guatemala. Amy Sams has a degree in English and Speech Communications from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has been a pastor''s wife for 17 years. She and her husband Matt have two daughters, one biological and one adopted from Russia. Amy and Matt are also the co-founders of Spade Ministries, Inc. a missions outreach ministry. Amy has been on and led multiple mission trips and has been a faithful partner with Orphan Outreach since its inception.

Accommodations
The team will stay in a hotel close to the ministry site. We will have double-occupancy rooms with bathrooms.

Mon, January 11- — AM- Pass out backpacks at Mrs. Arzu’s GIRLS school (125 girls, 7-17) PM- Ministry time at Mama Carmen’s orphanage (65 girls and boys, 0-17),
Tues, January 12-AM- Pass out backpacks at Mrs. Arzu’s BOYS school (125 boys, ages 7-17) PM- Ministry time at Mama Carmen’s orphanage (65 girls and boys, 0-17)
Wed, January13-AM- Pass out backpacks at Mrs. Arzu’s PRESCHOOL school (100 boys and girls, 2-6 yrs) PM- Ministry time at Mama Carmen’s orphanage (65 girls and boys, 0-17)
Thurs, January 14-AM- Pass out backpacks at a Christian school (TBD) PM- Ministry time at Mama Carmen’s orphanage (65 girls and boys, 0-17)
Fri, January 15-AM- Travel to Antigua- Pass out backpacks at Manchin Girls home (100 girls, 12-17) PM- Lunch and Shopping in Antigua
Sat, January 16-AM- Fly back to the US

TRIP COST
$1200.00 per person + International Airfare*
Total trip cost includes land cost of $1200 plus approximately $700 for international airfare between the USA and Guatemala.
Land cost of $1200 is all-inclusive: all meals, lodging, in-country transportation, insurance, interpreters, bottled water, sightseeing, etc.

*Orphan Outreach arranges all air travel. Costs confirmed at time of booking.
