UNICEF estimates that are over 370,000 orphans in Guatemala. Many of these children come from families facing extreme poverty; 70 percent of people in Guatemala live below the poverty level. Orphan Outreach ministers in Guatemala by partnering with local orphanages, churches, and Christian schools for children in extreme poverty situations. We also make it a priority to come alongside the Guatemalan nationals and work with them as they serve their own people.
You can serve orphans in Guatemala by applying for Midday Connection’s “Moms on a Mission”. This trip provides Moms and Daughters (ages 13 and up) the opportunity of ministering to orphans together. Melinda Schmidt and Lori Neff of Midday Connection will lead the trip alongside Orphan Outreach staff as the team travels to orphanages and Christian schools in and near Guatemala City. Experience priceless Mother/Daughter ministry time and as well as devotional time with other Moms and Daughters from all over the United States. The team will pass out critical humanitarian aid and school supplies and spend time sharing the Gospel with precious children of all ages.
This trip also includes:
• A stay at the beautiful Vista Real Hotel in Guatemala City
• Visits to orphanages and Christian schools
• Sightseeing in Guatemala including the beautiful, historic town of Antigua
• Expert English-speaking translators

*Total includes land cost of $1,200 plus approximately $750 for international airfare between the USA and Guatemala. Land cost of $1,200 is all-inclusive: all meals, lodging, in-country transportation, insurance, interpreters, bottled water, sightseeing, etc.

There are more than 145 million children that are either orphaned or homeless around the world. In many third-world countries, children spend less than five years in school and more than 150 million children leave school without the basic literacy skills. Our goal at Orphan Outreach is for every child to receive a full education and become a productive member of their community. A backpack and school supplies are a luxury that orphan or impoverished children cannot afford.
The Midday Moms on a Mission trip will be visiting over 600 children that are orphaned or live in extreme poverty situations. You can be a part of the team even if you can’t travel with us. Each donation of $15 will provide a child with the school supplies they need to have a successful school experience. And, most importantly, it will let them know they are loved by their Heavenly Father.
