“See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost” (Matt. 18:10-14).
It is the goal of Orphan Outreach to make sure that every backpack we distribute to a child contains a Bible. Thanks to our partnership with Lone Sheep Ministries, Orphan Outreach is closer to making this goal a reality.
Lone Sheep Ministries began in 2006, with a vision to provide Bibles written for children in their languages. “Our goal is to select Bibles and teaching materials that are meaningful to the people we’re trying to reach, and then to supply those as needed,” Brian Hall, founder of Lone Sheep Ministries, said. “Orphan Outreach has been the primary ministry that we’ve worked with thus far. Our largest project to date has been supplying 10,000 Russian Picture Bibles not only for orphan ministry in St. Petersburg, but also for ministries throughout Russia. These Bibles will allow Orphan Outreach and other ministries to lead the children more effectively through God’s Word.”
More than 1,300 orphans in Honduras also received Bibles as a result of Orphan Outreach’s partnership with Lone Sheep.
“As donors help to support the ministry,” Brian said, “we can broaden the support we give to [others]. Every penny that’s given to Lone Sheep goes directly into the [ministry],” as does every penny given to Orphan Outreach.
