About India
India is facing an accelerating threat from HIV, with more people infected with HIV than any other country in the world. The number of children in India orphaned by AIDS is approaching two million, according to UN estimates. The impacts of the AIDS crisis have not begun to emerge fully in India, and AIDS-related orphaning is not yet occurring at a large scale. Yet, India has the largest number of AIDS orphans of any country in the world. This number is expected to more than double in five years, and the proportion of orphaned children will remain exceptionally high until 2020 or 2030.

Land cost of $1750 is all-inclusive: all meals, lodging, in-country transportation, insurance, interpreters, bottled water, sightseeing, etc.
* The estimated land cost is subject to change based on changes in the total number of trip participants, trip itinerary or length of trip.
**Orphan Outreach arranges all air travel. Costs confirmed at time of booking. |
|
Please note that starting in 2013, all mission trip participants will need to cover the cost of their second checked baggage. When traveling internationally, most airlines allow passengers to carry two checked bags at 50 pounds maximum. Typically, your 1st checked bag is free and your 2nd bag costs approximately $40- $75, one way, depending on where you are traveling.
To save the cost of having to pay for the 2nd bag on the return flight home you can stuff a bag inside your other bag, or in some cases leave behind in your country of service. Otherwise, you will have to pay for your 2nd bag. Utilizing your 1st checked bag for personal use and your 2nd bag for humanitarian aid and supplies will ensure an empty bag that can be left behind or stowed inside your 1st bag for the return flight.
You can purchase an expandable, rollable duffle bag at Walmart for $15.
