India is facing an accelerating threat from HIV, with more people infected with HIV than any other country in the world. The number of children in India orphaned by AIDS is approaching two million, according to UN estimates. The impacts of the AIDS crisis have not begun to emerge fully in India, and AIDS-related orphaning is not yet occurring at a large scale. Yet, India has the largest number of AIDS orphans of any country in the world. This number is expected to more than double in five years, and the proportion of orphaned children will remain exceptionally high until 2020 or 2030.
Orphan Outreach is currently developing a strategic plan for supporting this drastic situation. This plan includes developing a Christian school and educational and physical support of orphanages with children affected by HIV/AIDS. You can serve orphans in India by applying for our Mission Backpack Trip. This ministry team will distribute much-needed backpacks and school supplies to these children. OO staff member, Stacey Halleen, will lead the trip as the team travels to orphanages and Christian schools in various parts of India. The team will work together to present a bible story, craft, and time of fun for the many children they will encounter.

*Total includes land cost of $2,350 plus approximately $1,500 for international airfare between the USA and India.
Land cost of $2,350 is all-inclusive: all meals, lodging, in-country transportation, insurance, interpreters, bottled water, sightseeing, etc.
