About This Trip

This is an 8 Day / 7 Night mission trip to Honduras.
This team will visit AFE.


Join Orphan Outreach and Trash Mountain Project in serving the children and families in the dump community of Tegucigalpa, Honduras. This team will show the love of Christ by helping build homes for the AFE School families. Many families in the community live in homes built by metal, cardboard, and materials found in the trash dump. Come be the hands and feet of Christ by providing a sturdy home for families.

About Honduras

Honduras is one of the poorest countries in Latin America and nearly two thirds of the nation's population lives below the poverty line. UNICEF estimates there are over 170,000 orphans in Honduras. Orphan Outreach ministers in Honduras by partnering with local orphanages, churches, and Christian schools for children in extreme poverty situations. Our primary project is partnering with the AFE (Love, Faith and Hope) school that serves the 300 children working at the dump in Tegucigalpa.

Team Leader

An Orphan Outreach Staff Member or Trip Volunteer will lead the team in Honduras.

Accommodations

The team will stay in a hotel close to the ministry site. We will have double-occupancy rooms with bathrooms.

Trip Cost

$1100 per person* + International Airfare**

Total trip cost includes an estimated land cost of $1100* plus international and domestic airfare between the USA and Honduras. Land cost of $1100 is all-inclusive: all meals, lodging, in-country transportation, insurance, interpreters, bottled water, sightseeing, etc.

* The estimated land cost is subject to change based on changes in the total number of trip participants, trip itinerary or length of trip.

Orphan Outreach Mission Trip Baggage Policy

Please note that starting in 2013, all mission trip participants will need to cover the cost of their second checked baggage. When traveling internationally, most airlines allow passengers to carry two checked bags at 50 pounds maximum. Typically, your 1st checked bag is free and your 2nd bag costs approximately $40- $75, one way, depending on where you are traveling.
