About this trip
You will visit orphans and vulnerable children and bring them much needed supplies and share God's love with them. At Little House of Refuge this team will do “hands on” projects to make a difference for the orphans. This is a great first time short term mission trip. Guatemala is a short three hour direct flight from DFW airport but the needs you will experience are a world apart.

Orphan Outreach recommends children 12 and older for this trip and will consider children 10 and older on a case by case basis.

About Guatemala
UNICEF estimates that are over 370,000 orphans in Guatemala. Many of these children come from families facing extreme poverty; 70 percent of people in Guatemala live below the poverty level. Orphan Outreach ministers in Guatemala by partnering with local orphanages, churches, and Christian schools for children in extreme poverty situations. We also make it a priority to come alongside the Guatemalan nationals and work with them as they serve their own people.

Team Leader:
Tiffany Taylor, Director of Marketing, will lead the team in Guatemala. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas Christian University and a Graduate Marketing Certificate from Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. She was a partner with a marketing/PR firm for 12 years and has led marketing for orphan ministry for more than 12 years. Tiffany has been leading mission trips to Russia, Guatemala and Honduras for more than 12 years. She and her husband are adoptive parents with two children adopted from Russia.

Accommodations:
The team will have double-occupancy rooms with private bathrooms.

Depart DFW airport early evening, direct flight to Guatemala City
Monday, June 11
(AM) Begin travel to Xela and visit Mi Especial Tesoro Girls Home on the way
(PM)
Lunch in Katok, check in and dinner at Bonifaz Hotel
Tuesday - Thursday, June 12-14
Little House of Refuge orphanage work projects and relationship building with the children (52 precious orphans age 4-18)
Friday, June 15
Drive to Antigua — visit children’s hospital and shopping in Antigua
Overnight in Guatemala City
Saturday, June 16
Morning departure to DFW airport |

Family with 2 full-paying adults (in double room @ $1,250) children 12 and under $1,025. Children over 12 are priced as adults.

Land cost is all-inclusive: all meals, lodging, in-country transportation, insurance, interpreters, bottled water, sightseeing, etc.
Estimate $700 for international airfare between the USA and Guatemala.
